The Study of Seismic Hazard in Near-Fault Areas Using Probabilistic and Deterministic Approach

Earthquake is one of the most common natural disasters in Indonesia and usually destroys both high low-rise buildings as well triggers liquefaction Tsunami. This means it important to provide a robust building design with ability resist earthquake load other induced phenomena. One methods commonly used determine relevant response spectrum bedrock seismic hazard analysis which can be either Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Analysis (PSHA) or Deterministic (DSHA). The application PSHA allows representation an using return period, thereby providing engineers flexibility selecting appropriate period. Meanwhile, DSHA based on geological observations empirical data that easily understood. research discussed greater influence near-fault areas including Bandung situated at distance 12.9 km from Lembang Fault, Palu 3 Yogyakarta 8.5 Opak Fault. Moreover, EZFRISK Program was generate results showed consistently more conservative than DSHA. It also noted there are significant differences shorter periods for site but these were observed period between 1s 2s sites.
